Jeffrey M. Howard
Director, LGBTQ Programming Office
Jeff is a second-year master’s student in Higher Education at Loyola University Chicago. He graduated from Hope College in Holland, Michigan with a bachelor’s degree in communication and history. While at Hope, Jeff founded a gay-straight alliance and also served as president of the LGBT student organization. Prior to joining the University of Chicago, Jeff served as a manager for Loyola University’s marketing and communication department and also worked in marketing and advertising at the Chicago Transit Authority. As part of his work with the CTA, Jeff partnered with the 2006 Gay Games in Chicago to promote the games on the CTA’s bus and train network. Jeff previously served on the board of directors for the Lesbian and Gay Community Network of Western Michigan in Grand Rapids. Jeff lives in River North with his partner Greg and their Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Fergie.

Klint Jaramillo
LGBTQ Programming Intern & OpenSource Leader: Intersection
Klint is a first year master’s candidate at the School of Social Service Administration. He plans to concentrate in clinical practice in order to provide therapeutic services to LGBT populations. Klint is also a mental health intern at the Center on Halsted, where he works with the Youth Program and the Mental Health Unit. He plans to pursue his doctoral degree in Social Work and Sociology focusing on spirituality and the LGBT community. His research interests include religion, sexuality, ethnicity, Latino/a communities, and LGBT communities. Klint received his bachelor’s degree from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. He majored in Sociology with concentrations in Critical Sexualities Studies and Latino & Hispanic Caribbean Studies. His senior thesis research entitled “Soy un hombre gay: Identity Formation among South American Gay Men” received High Honors in the Department of Sociology. Klint is fan of Christina Aguilera, Jaci Velasquez, and Jake Gyllenhaal. He enjoys watching foreign films and ABC primetime TV shows (Ugly Betty, Grey’s Anatomy, and Desperate Housewives).

Jeremy Kisala
OpenSource Leader: Pronoun Hoedown
Jeremy is a third-year undergraduate majoring in Gender Studies and Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations, focusing on Ancient Egypt. He has served as Queers & Associates’ activism chair for the past two years, and helped to plan the U of C’s first-ever Pride celebration in Spring 2008. When not in class, Jeremy enjoys knitting, reading queer theory, and teaching himself obscure and/or invented languages.

Antonia Clifford
OpenSource Leader: Livid
Antonia Clifford is a fourth year undergraduate in Sociology, focusing on the experiences of youth with mental health and identity expression. While new to the leadership of the group, Antonia has enjoyed the vibrant discussion and close friendships in LiViD for three years and looks forward to helping expand and enliven the group. Antonia loves community theater, service through art, and making new connections.

Courtney Jacobson
OpenSource Leader: Over the Rainbow
Courtney is a fourth year Ph.D. student in the Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations (NELC) department, with a focus on ancient Egyptian archaeology. She has been leading Over the Rainbow and participating in queer events on campus for three years now (because she is obviously not going anywhere) in order to represent the bisexual voice at U of C. When she is not leading the discussion group (i.e., most of the time), she enjoys going to classes, working at the Oriental Institute Museum, and staying home watching movies.

Nassira Nicola
OpenSource Leader: Pronoun Hoedown
Nassira is a graduate student in linguistics, conducting research on the semantics and pragmatics of a variety of sign languages as well as the interactions between language and politics (and sign languages). When she's not doing research or co-chairing ProHo, she can be found TAing beginning ASL, serving as a writing intern in the Hum Core, or playing with her affectionately demented poodle.
